"Yaşam birbirini kopyalayan ve bilgiyi bir sonraki nesillere aktarabilen bir sistem olarak düşünülebilir"

Yazarımız MIT'de(http://www.mit.edu/) fizik profesörü ve "Yaşamın geleceği enstitüsü(https://futureoflife.org/) başkanı. Kitapta teknoloji temelli yaşamın dönüşümü üzerine öngörüler ve olasılıklar değerlendirilmiş ancak karşımızda da kahinlik yapan birisi yok. Sizi heyecanlandıracak uçuk kaçık fantezilere çok fazla rastlamıyorsunuz. Uzaylılara inanmayan ve uzayda yalnız olduğumuz olasılığına daha yakın olan bir yazardan yaşamın geleceğini okuyacaksınız. Teknolojiye, yazılıma, biyoteknolojiye, astrofiziğe, parçacık fiziğine, kozmik olaylara meraklı değilseniz elinize almayın. Kitabı okurken Google dan pek çok detaya bakmanız gerekiyor. O nedenle yavaş gidiyor. Yazarın amacı okuyucuları gelecek ile ilgili bir tartışmanın içine çekmek. Teknolojinin neden olabileceği değişimin etkilerini sorgulamamızı ve mümkünse olası sorunlara çözüm üretmemizi istiyor. Yapay zeka çağında insan olmak ne anlama gelecek? Kitabın ilk bölümünde müthiş bir dijital distopya var. Hikayenin kahramanı Prometheus. Prometheus Yunan mitolojisinde bir tanrının akrabası. Herşeyi önceden görebilen, kötülüklerin olmaması için elinden geleni ardına koymayan bir kahin.  Hikaye de ise Prometheus dijital bir kahramana dönüşüyor ya da tam tersi. Bu distopyayı yaşama olasılığımız var. Olasılık diyorum, eğer Luddite'ler güç bulursa ve teknolojiyi ortadan kaldırırsa Yaşam 2.0'da kalmaya devam da edebilir hatta Yaşam 1'e doğruda dönüş de yapabiliriz. Diğer taraftan yapay zekanın insan düzeyinde ya da ötesinde bir yapay zeka teknolojisine dönüştüğü Yaşam 3.0 dönemine girersek neler olacağını kestirmek kolay değil. Yazarda aslında benzer şeyleri düşünüyor.

Kuantum teknolojisi sayesinde bir kaç on yıl içinde bir zeka patlaması yaşanırsa Yaşam 3.0 evresine çok hızlı giriş yapabiliriz. Yaşam 3.0 dönemine girdiğimizde,  sadece yaklaşık 4 milyar yıllık dünyamızı değil, 13.8 milyar yıllık kozmik tarihimizi değişebileceğini iddia ediyor. Kendi kaderinin efendisi olacak bir geleceği tarifliyor yazar.

“Life can be thought of as a system that replicates each other and transfers knowledge to the next generations”

The writer is a proffesor of physics at MIT((http://www.mit.edu/) and president of Institu of Future of Life (https://futureoflife.org/). In the book, the predictions and possibilities for the transformation of technology-based life have been evaluated, but there is no soothsayer. You don't come across so many factoid fantasies that will excite you. You will read the future of life from a writer who does not believe in aliens and who is closer to the possibility that we are alone in space. If you are not interested in technology, software, biotechnology, astrophysics, particle physics, cosmic events, do not take the book into your hands. While reading the book you need to look at many details from Google. So it goes slow. The author's aim is to draw readers into a discussion about the future. He wants us to question the effects of the change that technology can cause and, if possible, find solutions to possible problems. What does it mean to be human in the age of artificial intelligence? In the first part of the book there is a great digital dystopia. Prometheus, the hero of the story. Prometheus is a relative of a god in Greek mythology. He was a forerunner who could foresee everything and put everything he could to avoid evil. In the story, Prometheus turns into a digital hero or vice versa. We have a chance to experience this dystopia. I say probability, if the Luddites find power and eliminate technology, we can continue to stay in Life 2.0 and even return to Life 1. On the other hand, it is not easy to predict what will happen if we enter the Life 3.0 era, where artificial intelligence is transformed into an artificial intelligence technology at human level or beyond. The author actually thinks of similar things.

Thanks to quantum technology, if an intelligence explosion occurs in a few decades, we can enter the Life 3.0 phase very quickly. He claims that when we enter the period of life 3.0, not only our 4 billion-year-old world, but our 13.8 billion-year-old cosmic history can change. He describes a future that will be the master of his own destiny.
